Chaplain Nahrstadt passed to his rest on September 22, 2007.  He was an exemplary member of Civil Air Patrol and a member of March Field Composite Squadron 45 at March Air Reserve Base in Moreno Valley, California.  He held posts in Squadron 45, Group 3 and was Chaplain for California Wing.  He was greatly loved by his family and friends.  He was a mentor to both senior members as well as his cadets and we miss him greatly.  He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Major Karen Nahrstadt who continues his legacy of teaching moral leadership to our cadets. "Chaplain Jack" was the quintessential senior Civil Air Patrol member, one who we all looked up to and tried to emulate.  He was a walking encyclopedia of knowledge about all programs and specialty tracks, was kind and a man of God.  He leaves behind "shoes" that no one member will ever be able to fill.

Sincerely yours,   Michael P. Boyko, Maj.  CAP
